Grade V students of DPS Modern Indian School used many skills
together, to bring geometry to life. They joined together each 2-D and
3-D shapes in forms to create mini cities including all the usual
buildings such as a hospital, school or stadium. This activity is a
great example of the innovative project-based curriculum for Grade V,
which the Junior School Mathematics department developed with the
objective to make Mathematics fun and engaging for the students, and to
help those who think they are 'no good at Maths’ to see the subject and
their ability in a new light. Being a part of Qatar’s vision of
sustainable development by 2030, students displayed the futuristic city
of Qatar by using different shapes which were appreciated by the
Principal, Vice Principal (Junior Wing), Headmistress (I-V) and Academic
Coordinator (V-VI). |
